Are you passionate about gaming and have an eagle eye for detail? We’re seeking a video game tester to join our internal operations in Plymouth, UK. As a games QA tester, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of client's games, applications and AI products before they hit the market. This role is primarily an in-house contractor position with the possibility for hybrid remote working (Dependant on the project needs).
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Here are the responsibilities that may be required of you:
- Thorough Testing: Play each game meticulously, competing in various scenarios. Take note of any bugs, glitches, or unexpected behaviour.
- Level Exploration: Dive into every level, uncover hidden objects, and assess gameplay mechanics.
- Recommendations: Provide valuable feedback on potential extensions or modifications to enhance the gaming experience.
- Bug reporting & database management: Utilising EQA or client databases to work on bug catalogue and other tasks.
- Dynamic working: To be able to work in a dynamic setting, working on a range of different test scenarios.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
You will need to have:
- Previous experience as a video game tester (2 years +)
- Passion for Gaming: A genuine love for gaming is essential.
- Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Experience with PC, console, and mobile games & applications.
- Advanced understanding of game dynamics, sandbox explorations, side quests, and hidden levels.
- Understanding of test scenarios such as white box / compatibility / fixed verification / regression / smoke / sanity / stress testing (etc).
- Lead/ supervisory experience would also be advantageous.
PAY & EMPLOYMENT
This contractor position pays from £11.75 - £15.00 an hour (depending on experience & role)
